A Unique Wedding Photography Experience
It was early November when I had spoken to Drew and Bec (Bride and Groom). We had a long conversation on the phone about wanting to create a Viking ceremony for their upcoming wedding. I was ecstatic to say the least! A Viking Wedding in the heart of the Blue Mountains doing their photography and videography?! We continued to speak on the phone and I remember ending on a good note. The next day, Drew called me back and told me he wanted me to do his wedding and for me to be his photographer. I was so excited.
I knew this was going to be unlike any other ceremony I had ever been on. Drew and Bec had told me they ordered custom made clothing from the United Kingdom, along with their weapons (an axe, dagger and even swords!). This was the real deal. And as expected the ceremony was epic. Their was a celebrant who was dressed as a priestess and did the ritual. An actual Nordic ritual. It was so cool. During it the father of the bride handed her a sword the priestess in the back watches. The ceremony was very interesting and unlike any I had done before as a photographer.
Being able to be part of something like this was an amazing experience not only as a photographer but on a very personal human level as well. I feel very humbled and grateful to have been their photographer and cinematographer for their special day.
I wish them both nothing but the best.
Thank you guys for a wonderful experience.
